This Sunday saw 3 junior matches played in glorious sunshine and marking mother’s day with 3 fine results.





First up the u14 girls played Portsmouth away and came back with a 10-1 win which completed their season going 10 games unbeaten and winning their league. Well done Girls!
Back to Romsey for battle of the under 16s , both boys and girls played against Basingstoke and Andover respectively. Both matches were a spectacle that any neutral would have paid to watch! However if a Romsey supporter it was very tense at times and both teams gave their all in their last matches of the season.
There were goals, amazing saves, balls hitting posts and lots of cheering from some amazing supporters. In the end the final score in both games was 2-2
A fitting end to the season for all these teams and hopefully some Mums enjoyed too!

Under 14 Girls Ease to a Strong Win
The under 14 girls dominated their game against Portsmouth as suspected but Portsmouth played hard to the very end and their inexperienced young team appreciated minutes on the pitch to help in their development.








The Portsmouth keeper had a super game winning player of match and although the final score was Romsey 14 v 0 Portsmouth , she made numerous fine saves.
Romsey shared the goals about and played some lovely pass and move hockey with even the keeper Ellie having a run out on pitch in the second half.
This extends the girls run to 9 unbeaten games and their last match of the season to come next week. Well done girls , well played all!
U14 Girls win their League!

The under 14 girls played out a nail biting game against Havant on Sunday and kept the crowd waiting until the very end after coming back from a 2-1 deficit in the last 10 minutes to score twice and win the match 3-2 and secure the league title!
The girls have had an amazing season and still remain unbeaten and have faced every challenge head on giving 100% in every game with all members of the squad playing their part over 6 months.
Truly well done girls a very well deserved title and still two more games to enjoy!
Under 14 Girls Jump for Joy!
The under 14 girls were jumping for joy this Sunday after they beat Trojans in a tightly fought match winning 1-0.



This leaves them undefeated all season scoring 29 goals and only conceding 4 goals since September!
The girls had to work really hard all match with the Trojans keeper making some super saves but eventually Romsey broke the deadlock with Ruby W picking up a rebound from the keeper to calmly slot home.
A super team effort, great defending and some vital saves from Ellie G kept Trojans out in a tense match.
Well done girls almost there!
U14 Girls take it to the next level!
The u14 girls played Petersfield on Sunday in the top of the table clash.





Supported by a big crowd they did not hold back and very quickly put Petersfield under pressure and were awarded a penalty flick in the first 5 minutes which was calmly scored by Harriet F.
Alisa S shortly after scored a fine second goal to give Romsey the half time lead 2-0.
The second half saw Romsey take it to the next level!
They did not allow Petersfield time on the ball and the pressing and support for each other was superb!
Alisa S working hard up front completed her hatrick and further goals from Harriet F, Isla MW and Ava L saw the final score of 7-0.
A super game to watch which was played in great spirit by both teams.
Well done all! Romsey u14 Girls are now within sight of winning their league!
U14 Girls start 2022 with win!
The under 14 girls started 2022 with an important win against Southampton 3-1.

The girls really worked hard for the win and needed some great goal keeping and defensive work in the second half to take the points after a strong performance from Southampton.
Goals from Maggie N , Harriet F and Isla M made sure of the win and now the girls play Petersfield On Sunday in the top of the table clash.
U14 Girls Continue Unbeaten Run!
The under 14 girls played at Havant on Sunday and a super team performance helped them to a 6-2 win!
Two goals from Harriet and Ava and one a piece for Emily and Ruby.
Despite the cold weather the girls were on fire 🔥 from the start. The whole team worked hard for one another scoring 3 goals in each half.
This continues a very strong start to the season and continues their unbeaten run.

U14 Girls top of the league!
The under 14 girls played Trojans B on Sunday and made a strong start dominating midfield with a strong pressing game not allowing Trojans any time on the ball.

This was soon rewarded with a great break away goal by Alisa who finished strongly into the corner of the goal.
The second half saw two more goals from Harriet and Isla from short corners, both finished smartly.
A super team performance with everyone working for each other saw the final score 3-0 to Romsey which secured top spot alone in the league.

RHC U14 Girls return with a win!
Having missed almost a year of competitive hockey our U14 Girls returned to league jockey with a comfortable away victory.
They played Southampton away in their first game of the season. A fantastic first half with great pressing team play saw the girls score 3 times.
Two goals for Imogen and one for Maggie from a move she started on the half way line saw the girls with a well earned half time lead.
The second half was a closer affair and Southampton had their chances but Romsey remained strong to take the win 3-0.
Well done girls, great start to the season!
A sunny end to a strange season for the juniors!
The Juniors finished their season this week and finally we had some sunshine!
It has been a difficult and interrupted season but there was still some great hockey played and super individual performances.
A really big thank you to the circa 30 volunteers who help run the junior section, coaches , managers , umpires and assistants who without you we could not operate!
We hope for a more normal season next year and hope the children enjoyed receiving their medals for their great efforts this year.
